It was Saturday morning, March 21st 2015 when we decided to take a long drive from Dubai, UAE to Musandam, Oman and watch some Dolphins in the wild. It was around 3 hours of drive, plus the amount of time we spent at the border getting our visa to Oman.
Once you exited Dubai, there really isn’t anything to see, except for mountains and deserts.
But once you reach further up Musandam, you’ll start seeing lots and lots of the sea view. Cool drive. Mountains on the right and then ocean on the left.
Then we finally reached our destination. Too bad I wasn’t able to take a picture of the boat. Initially, it was just me and my ex since the other tourist was late for the tour.
Eventually they were able to catch up by a speed boat.
They gave us some free foods and drinks too, which is included in our tour package. Just gotta get a picture with this tiny can of Coke! Lol
So we kept going further and further til we finally got a glimpse of their fins. ^_^
Sorry about the shaky video. Was just using my phone and the boat kept moving lol.
After seeing them, the guides also have us some gears for snorkeling. Oh how I was so scared getting in the water. The water isn’t even like the clear ones. It’s not like you’re getting in the sandy clear water by the beach. I can still remember how terrified I was jumping in. Boat stopped and gave us some time to get to the small rock formation where you can see some fish, corals and sea urchins. It was nice, but I don’t think I’ll do that again, unless the water is clear enough for me to at least feel safer. Lol. Always been terrified with sharks. Haha
Over all, it was such an exciting experience being able to watch Dolphins in the wild. I was a bit emotional when I first saw them since this was the very first time I was able to see anything in their own habitat. I’ve always been an animal lover and things like this just touches me.
So we drove back that day for another 3-4 hours then went straight to take a shower then snooze our way til the next day. ^_^
